Finders Keepers: A Novel - Stephen King

Predictable Drama

The Reverend's Wife - Kimberla Lawson Roby

Some people couldn't survive without a daily dose of drama.   Curtis and Charlotte are back at it again. This time they've dragged Matt into it.

Joyous July

Finders Keepers: A Novel (The Bill Hodges Trilogy) - Stephen King The Reverend's Wife - Kimberla Lawson Roby Forty Acres: A Thriller - Dwayne Alexander Smith Hidden Bodies - Caroline Kepnes That Mean Old Yesterday - Stacey Patton

This will be my month of peace and joy.  I have picked a pretty difficult selection of books to get through in next 30 days, but I'm determined.

Music and books have always been a safe haven for me.  With that being said, all negativity is out the door.  Bring it and I'll slap a book in your face. Haha!!!

Yeahhhh!!! Only a day later, but I made it through four out of five of my June books.

June 2016 Reading

Mr Mercedes - Stephen King The Coldest Winter Ever - Sister Souljah The Book of Speculation - Erika Swyler Love, Honor, and Betray - Kimberla Lawson Roby Them - Nathan McCall
Reblogged from AudioBook Junkie:

I managed to complete 3 out of 5 April 2016 Readings.  The question is do I pick them back up or just go with the flow.  Here are the 5 I would like to complete in June.  The Book of Speculation is really a carryover from May.  It's not the page turner I thought it would be, but still interesting enough.

Not the Usual

Mr Mercedes - Stephen King

I don't know how any reader could not love Stephen King.

This was far from the normal for him, yet not stretched.  Just like with many of his novels, I found myself chuckling throughout.  His sense of humor and delivery is always perfect.  He's not pretentious, doesn't get caught up on vocabulary (screw the big words with complex definitions) and he describes his characters like know other.  You can't help but get a vivid picture of each of them.

I hear the sequel, Finders Keepers takes us a little ways back in time.  It takes us to the old Misery style of writing.  Let's see how that goes. #StephenKing #MrMercedes #ReadingKeepsMeSane

Mr Mercedes - Stephen King

I am more than halfway through this book and I'm still confused as to what is Mr. Mercedes problem.  I mean, sure, he has mommy issues and a host of other mental problems, but why City Center, why Mrs. Trewlawney and why Hodges?

I guess you can't rationally process anything when dealing with a Sociopath.

I'm quite surprised.   This is not your typical Stephen King,  but I'm enjoying it thus far. #StephenKing #MrMercedes

Why am I so late to the party.

The Coldest Winter Ever - Sister Souljah

I know Sister Souljah has a powerful voice,  but I never knew her writing was just as powerful.   The Coldest Winter Ever is gritty and in your face.   It's definately not for those who have a tendency to cast judgment on situations without properly analyzing.

Gong! Gong! Gong!

The Book of Speculation - Erika Swyler

This book gets the gong.  Now I see why it took me two months to get through it.  There was just enough to keep me interested and when I finally reached the end...

What was I thinking? Can I get two months of my reading time back Erika Sawyer!!!  I've got some speculation for you.  I speculate that I will never read one of your boring books again.

You are now filed in my think long and hard about this one box.
