Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I'm not sure what to say right now.  This book is sort of weird and I'm not sure where it's headed.

Doctor Sleep - Stephen King

Never imagined the sequel to #TheShining being like this.   I like it,  I like it.  Full steam ahead.   No pun intended.

Be Careful What You Pray For - Kimberla Lawson Roby

Alicia, Alicia, Alicia. Smh.   The good man wasn't good enough because you couldn't be carefree with money.   Now you've got yourself a man who allows you buy whatever, whenever.  Oh, but wait, he's also a Class A, no good, womanizing, self serving jerk off.

They say women look for their father in a mate.   Well, you've got that and then some. Good luck!

Doctor Sleep - Stephen King

"Lots of people have got a little of what I call the shining,  but mostly it's just a twinkle-the kind of thing that let's em know what the DJ's going to play next on the radio or that the phones gonna ring pretty soon."

— feeling amazing
Doctor Sleep - Stephen King

So I just started Doctor Sleep because I'm having a difficult start with The Book of Speculation by Erika Sawyer and No One by Paul Cleve.

I must say I'm feeling pretty nostalgic.   "Here's Johnny!" LOL!

Reading progress update: I've read 117 out of 176 pages.

Between the World and Me - Ta-Nehisi Coates

Not sure I am enjoying that this is written as a letter to a specific individual.

The Messiness of it All

Sin No More - Kimberla Lawson Roby

This is book 5 in a series of about 11 or 12, I believe. I am so tempted to write a review on each book.   However,  I feel like I would not be doing it justice without reaching close to the last book in the series.

There's so much going on,  I honestly don't know where to start.  On to the next one!

Between the World and Me - Ta-Nehisi Coates

"Mistakes were made. Bodies were broken. People were enslaved. We meant well. We tried our best. “Good intention” is a hall pass through history, a sleeping pill that ensures the dream."

April 2016 Reading

Sin No More - Kimberla Lawson Roby Between the World and Me - Ta-Nehisi Coates Copper Sun - Sharon M. Draper Doctor Sleep - Stephen King Trust No One: A Thriller - Paul Cleave

Thanks to audiobooks, I am able to increase my reading challenge to 50 books this year.  Most of my reading has to take place during the spring and summer because fall television and football usually consumes most of my time.

Curtis and Charlotte... Two peas in a pod

Love & Lies - Kimberla Lawson Roby

Curtis and Charlotte are made for each other.   Quick and easy read,  but a tad too predictable.

The Best-Kept Secret

The Best-Kept Secret - Kimberla Lawson Roby Thoroughly enjoyed the twist. I was expecting another round of "Rev. Black at it Again". I was pleased to see Charlotte be the not so innocent one, but dang Ms. Kimberla made her straight scandalous. #ReadingKeepsMeSane #KimberlaLawsonRoby #BookClubGroupies
